DIY Gradient nails (1st time)

 DIY Gradient nails

My 1st time doing Gradient nails! (Kinda fail, compared to pictures I've seen, but practive makes perfect, right?)

What you'll need:
1. White nail polish
2. Colored nail polish
3. Art sponge (what I used) or makeup sponge.
4. Q-tips for clean up
5. Nail polish remover for clean up
6. Scotch tape
7. piece of paper for blotting
Colors I used:
Coral Island - Sinful Colors
Happy Go Lucky - China Glaze
I Need A Refresh-Mint - Wet n Wild

How I did it:

Step 1: Paint your nails white & let them dry completely. I think the white shows the colors a lot brighter....

Step 2: Grab your sponge. I used a art sponge. (It was the only kind of sponge I had and I think it might be the reason why it didn't turn out that good. Next I'll try a makeup sponge to see if that works better.)

Step 3: Grab your tape and tape up your finger. You'll only need about two pieces for each finger you want to gradient. (You should tape all the fingers you plan to gradient because you'll most likely mess the already done nails trying to get the tape around your fingers)

Step 4: Apply a good amount of polish to your sponge. Blot it on the paper to make sure it's the way you want it to look.

Step 5: Press the sponge on your nail. I just pressed it down. Some sites says to rub it back and forth, which I did not do, which might have made it not turn out the way I assumed it would....

Step 6: Use your Q-tip & nail polish remover to clean up around your nail.
Repeat the above 6 steps for each nail you wish to gradient.

*I'll definitely try this out with a makeup sponge and see how it looks.*
